Imagining "a day in someone's life."
We envisioned "a day in someone's life" when designing "ONE DAY TANKTOP". This design was crafted with the wearer in mind, aiming to provide comfort throughout the day—whether worn during work hours or in private moments afterward. It serves as a versatile garment, ideal as a single layer in hot seasons and as an inner layer in colder times, designed to complement "a day in life" throughout the year.
Gentle fabric created by a loopwheel knitting machine
The "ONE DAY TANKTOP" uses fabric knitted on a loopwheel machine, same with the "S/S PACK TEE". The greatest appeal of fabric produced on a loopwheel machine lies in its unique softness and texture. Made in Wakayama, this fabric is crafted meticulously at low speeds, unlike mass-production knitting machines, preserving a natural texture without unnecessary tension on the yarn. This results in excellent breathability, a soft feel against the skin, and comfort even on hot and humid days.
The difference due to sewing technique
Because it is a tank top which is hard to show the difference, we also emphasized sewing technique. It features a seamless round body design and employs flat-seam stitching on the shoulders to minimize skin irritation and ensure comfort. The neckline and armholes are finished with a double-needle coverstitch binder for a smooth appearance that eliminates fabric ridges.
Comfortable fit and design
We pursued a size that can be used both as a single layer piece and as an inner layer. It features a loose fit that doesn't cling to the skin, suitable for wearing alone or as a base layer. The depth of the armholes is carefully set, and attention is paid to the shoulder width, creating a design that combines the tank top style with a sleeveless feel.
The simplest clothes
Imagining "a day in someone's life". What emerged from this was this tank top. Upon reflection, the ultimate in simplicity, that's what a tank top represents, almost like the essence of clothing itself. Within this simplicity, how much attention to detail and craftsmanship can be packed in? That was WASEW's challenge. Modest yet indispensable, more than just apparel, it's a companion in daily life. This is what WASEW envisions with the "ONE DAY TANKTOP".
